Our course partnered with Dyson UK for the international Dyson Challenge, promoting Dotplot, a breast cancer detection device. I rebranded it as Sure Check to create a reassuring, self-care feel for women 19+. I designed packaging and a leaflet to reach the target audience. Though I didn’t win, the experience taught me a lot about working under pressure and tight deadlines.
Vision Board:
Mock Ups:
The word ‘knot’ represents the act of untying a knot. Which can symbolise unravelling or unlocking important information or tools. In the context of this device, it can represent the journey towards better breast health and the unveiling of a valuable resource.
Leaflet Designed for Inside the Box:
I designed the handbook to avoid looking too much like a medical leaflet. I chose a very light pink cover to create a calm feeling and added illustrations of different types of boobs for a more approachable look.
On the inside page, I included information about the Dotplot product and what it allows the user to do, aiming to reassure them that checking themselves is completely normal.
This packaging for Sure Check was designed to feel approachable and less clinical. I wrote the question on the side "Have you sure checked yourself?" to link with the product name.
The light colours, simple illustrations, and clean typography create a calm and reassuring look, encouraging users to feel more comfortable about self-checks.
